Been tinkering with the old KLE twin as its been sat neglected for some years. Wiped the muck away and decided it wasn't quite duallie enough so most of the road stuff is gone, new set of conti attacks front and rear as I had worn the edges off lol. Gone is the headlamps and fairings and front and rear mudguards and with it a shed load of weight. The exhaust weighs a ton lol.

Exhaust is modded two into one and grafted into a louder mx pipe. Brakes have been stripped with new pads but still binding as pistons a bit manky, might be okay but seat and side panels to sort yet.

Weighed it today and just over 168 kilos with all fluids and a gallon of fuel. That's down from 194 so more weight lost than I thought.

To put that into context the new KTM duke 790 is 169kg...... dry lol

It won't go without the engine Paul.  Better put it back in.

Ho ho ho. The engine is in alright. It is basically a slightly tweaked GPZ500 lump, not much less power than a KTM640

I was at Thor this morning at 09:45 with time to kill. Looked at the air cooled Indian Chieftan reduced to £20k yer man asked me if I hankered after such a bike I told him I rode one just under 1k kms round the Canadian wineries and rockies rented from Kelowna and thought it a fine bike for big open roads but nae devon.... he was not happy at this response didn't ask what I thought of the ride. I looked at dirt bikes - the 2019 Fantic 250 trail bike looks the mutts at £4699 and he was soon blethering again to me about Euro 4 regs suspension etc . I said it looked like a fine machine n if and when the KTM failed me I'd consider one- At that point yer man hurrummpphed walked off n didn't speak to me again. Tittifalarious always good value entering he doors at Thor
